About me

“The world doesn’t need another fashion blog, johanna.”

Yeah, yeah. I know. I thought the same thing when the idea of starting this blog popped into my head. The fashion bases are clearly covered in the blogging world from WordPress to YouTube, and what expertise do I have to offer on the topic anyway? But then I said, “screw it” and did it anyway.

Still, the question remained: what will make my blog different than the others out there?

Most of the blogs, channels, pages, and whatever else out there that you’ll find are focused primarily on trends. Trends for the mainstream, trends for certain subcultures, trends for accessories, celebrity trends, and so on. But the average person isn’t so hyper-focused on trends, nor do they care about the latest fashions that designers have put out. Most of us don’t have the time, resources, or… well, interest in that sort of thing.

That’s not why I’m here, either. I want to focus in on functional, accessible clothing and accessories. I want to help you feel like yourself, and to use your personal style on the outside to reflect who you are on the inside. My belief is that fashion and style are about fun. It’s not meant to be taken too seriously. After all, I practically live in sweatshirts and sweatpants – so how serious could I be anyway? I can even attribute my entire relationship to the wearing of my lucky pink sweatshirt! But that’s a story for another day.

I’ve followed other fashion gurus and have kept up with fashion news and trends for years. I’m no expert, but I like to think that I know enough of the ins and outs to be able to share some of my tips, opinions, and favorite brands, accessories, styles, and other things that are must-haves for me (and hopefully for you!).

On Coolsweats, you’ll find all sorts of posts relating to fashion, clothing, and lifestyle written by yours truly. The one rule is that they fall under the Coolsweats philosophy: being cool, genuine, and not taking yourself too seriously… and being a stark advocate for sweatpants and sweatshirts, of course!
